How has the coronavirus affected your personal life?

Their rights and freedoms were being violated.

Well, that is not inaccurate...if they were being forced to accept the test.

But they are simply being told that testing is a requirement of continued employment. It is their choice whether or not to accept this condition. I am Covid tested frequently, drug tested intermittently, and require security clearances for various aspects of various jobs. I dislike all of these tests to different degrees, and have refused several Covid tests from specific testers who I find a bit too "enthusiastic" in their excavations. I prefer to wait for testers who act like medical personnel performing a procedure rather than seeming like taxidermists cleaning a skull for a museum.

Is this possibly the case here?

I wrote that tongue in cheek

jjohnwm jjohnwm - I like the taxidermist reference. lol But no, that was not the case. While the deep nasal swabs are not what I would consider fun, I have not heard any mention of any of the swabbers being aggressive. It seemed like their decision was based on a moral principle stance, or some such notion.

Speaking of stances, 5 of the local long term care facilities announced yesterday that they are banding together and are demanding all employees be vaccinated by Oct. 12th. No vaccine, and one will be sent home with suspended pay. Hopefully others follow suit.

The same thing is going on here. All healthcare workers are being vaccinated or else let go.

Except that they can’t afford to let anybody go, because they are 110% busy, and so every person who refuses is just a big sabot in the cogbox.

Docs & nurses, not so easy to replace here right now, but personal aides, or health care aides, much easier. The bulk of staff that provide care to residents in long term care facilities are not doctors, or nurses.

Thank you all for the well wishes

My provider told me that of the hundred plus covid cases they have treated it seems like if it is going to be bad it is bad almost immediately. He definitely was not downplaying the virus as he told me it nearly killed him but the fact that my symptoms are incredibly mild and from his experience that tends to indicate less chances of serious illness which is encouraging. He gave me his personal number just in case something goes south on me over the weekend.

10 day quarantine from work so I will be able to catch up on some tank maintenance ?

Very strange bug we have running around for sure, such a shame it has become so divisive and politicized
Sorry to hear you got the bug. I hope it does not get to bad for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks, how did you fare overall with it
Had a bit of a fever and bad head aches. Felt so tired, that was probably the worst bit, zero energy. I got over it OK just left me with a bit of a cough. My wife however has had tinnitus since having covid. The doctor has told her it's a side effect from covid.
