Not sure if you got the point, but it's kool.

EDIT: For scotts

Ha I'm not trying to troll I have another thread that discusses the option of using this tank for a hillstream setup. I am still undecided.

And I have a thread debating the oscar in a 55 ordeal. I have heard 75% of people against it and 25% say it works fine. I know a man who had 2 in a 55 for life. Not one problem. I saw pictures too but I understand it would not be the most humane thing. Like I said I am still undecided.
There was a black pacu that was kept in a 75 gallon tank for 40 years, so do you also think that makes it okay to put black pacu in a 75g? :screwy:
You have to understand the difference between surviving and thriving. But if you want to shove a bunch of big fish into a tiny tank, then I guess there is nothing we can do to stop you... What I'm wondering right now is why you made a thread asking a question just to practically ignore the obvious answer.

It's kool. I was pretty much supporting you and the OP's (if he keeps a Oscar in a 55) decision. A 75 is decent size they will be fine, only problem I forsee is them fighting over territory. That's it. So basically the total opposite of what my comment was misconstrued as.:D

Because, I for one, I Kept a oscar in a 55gal for a while. OP is asking "can it be done"....YES it can. Why argue that fact that they would be, or should be, or it's better off living in a 75gal.

It can be done, who said it should be done? I say either 75g or forget oscars

Ummm, and you had how many adult size oscar?

So, the fact of the matter is....
The OP wants to know if IT CAN BE DONE....YES
Would I...I have done it.....So yes.
Was I Young when I did it....Yes
Would I do it Again....No...what's the point of having a smaller tanks.

It's not the end of the world if you put an oscar in a 55g.. can definatly work. There are many worse ways to overstock a tank.
