Doesn't mean i can't know anything about them. :chillpill:
I only speak form......EXPERIENCE.....and what worked for me. Reading some of the online info is great info, but reading will never replace hands on experience.... ;)

Wait. Don't you have a 75 gallon? Why not put the afras in the 55 and the Oscar in the 75? That would work way better. The afras don't get very big at all and will be perfectly happy in the 55 gallon.

Because, I for one, I Kept a oscar in a 55gal for a while. OP is asking "can it be done"....YES it can. Why argue that fact that they would be, or should be, or it's better off living in a 75gal.

He never asked "can it be done", his exact words were "who is for or against this idea" and obviously most people are against it. The reason for arguing that it shouldn't be done is because that is what he asked for.

I am still undecided on my 55 stocking but I thought I would make this nice poll to see who is for or against this idea.

1 Tiger Oscar
1 Bichir Senegalus

in a 55. bare.

Let me know what you think!

If I had food and a small brain....sure.

This comment wins the thread :D Please don't ever compare a fish's needs to a person's...this road lies madness. If his fish lives in a closet...what does yours live in? A bedroom? Would you be happy in a bedroom for your entire life? Maybe with company of the opposite sex...

I personally wouldn't put an Oscar in there, but I have bigger tanks...I vote yes and when it gets full grown, you may change your mind and upgrade.

Well to go on your other question... I have 2 sens currently with my oscars and they get along great, but they're in a 75g...

Imo, you don't need to have EXPERIENCE to know a fish is too big for a tank.
