IMO, its a lot more fun to keep a lot of small / medium tanks. That would be my preference. But because of space, family, etc, its just not reasonable for me. SO the alternative was 2 large tanks... but that is ALL I HAVE. Its cool, but not a day goes by that I don't wish I had a bunch of small tanks. the grass is always greener I suppose
That is funny.. i quess that is human nature.. but i still think the little tanks get lost next to our big ones ... and all the little tanks are harder to get to..so that is probably my reasoning.

i started keeping fish properly in 1999

my main interest for many years was piranha and i kept these for around 4 years and kept all the pygos and a few serra species.
i changed to arowana keeping and got into the asian look tanks a few years ago and this is my main focus now.
i did have a stint breeding and buying/selling but got sick of it and wanted to have a hobby again so sold the ot and went down to 1 tank again.
next stage is FOWLR small marine pred tank.

that must have been interesting with the piranha... was it different then usual fish.. did you get to see those pearly whites ? The reason i mention it is because i have stuffed piranha a family menber gave me..and they have those teeth almost seething at you..in a vicious grin.. I doubt if they were this bad. infact in reality they are probably jst like most monster fish. Moving into the marine area should be fun..i often think about doing one marine tank especially when you see such gorgeous fish.. but that may be too much too learn..

Zero fish knowledge except for big appetite for eating them when I got started with freshwater fish keeping at the start of the new millenium.

Now I breed Angels, Gouramis, and Bettas and keep Arowanas, P. Bass, Discus, Gars, Catfish, and Barracudas and a Turtle.

Ive kept fish for 13yrs, Bred many different Africans & American Cichlids.
I love catfish and have recently got into Monsters.
Im always learning and dont think aquarists will ever know everything about fish. They are sooooo different,

Cheers

Don't really know what kind this is. It just got into my net during one of my collection safari for feeders.:D

I released a bigger one after I discovered it was quite an eating machine.:)

very adorable.. mine was that size last year when i found it..maybe even smaller..they say once you take in a snapper you cannot release it into the wild. again... . at least that is what some say..there is two sides depending on who you listen too..but i do not want to take any chances so mine is growing and growing and growing.. haha.. i will take his picture later and show you..
