ok when i went to order a blue dempsey, i had kept reg jd juvies for 3 and a half years. i know what a reg jd juvie looks like, they have mostly a tan background. i bought this guy from that pet place for 55. and it was a solid blue from the research i did on them. with that being said, do you really think i would of kept a reg jd that i paid actually 90 bucks after shipping for a reg jd that i could get for 3 bucks at petsmart? im not a sucker. this fish had all the normal ebjd traits until he got about 3 inches. at about that time i started to feed him night crawlers, and he has got stuck on them, he wont eat anything else except bloodworms for the last 7 months. i dont know if he is going through an ugly stage but i would not have kept a reg jd that i paid 90 bucks for, i would have asked for a refund, sent it back, etc. i will post some pics tomorrow when i clean the tank and do a water change and you will see when his darker colors flush out, his base color is a light blue, not tan. i could really care less if someone says he isnt an ebjd. if i saw him in a lfs right now being sold as an ebjd, i would question and assume he wasnt an ebld, but since i got him at an inch, i know he is an ebjd. i

and once again, i have no reason to argue that he is a blue except for people to know that there blues can end up like this. im not selling him to anyone on here. or trying to make money off of him.

Not quite an "Electric Blue" but its blue all the same! You'd probably get in the region of 60 euro for it over here?!
That is an EBJD, I've seen them that dark and at that same size. Theres someone on here selling EBJD frys that are hella light, but they came from parents as dark as the one being shown here. These guys change colors quite often. Mine turns from dark to light all the time...not sure if its due to stress or the constant water changes i do....
it looks like it could be a ebjd but if it is its not a good looking one. but it is a nice looking fish, just not a nice looking ebjd
