So If the fish is EBJD and he paid 50.00 KNOWNING that he is a Breeder.. Do you not think that the fish was worth the price? Why Do I say this? Because IT is WELL known that EBJD's regardless of color... Still CARRY the Gene and infact when bred to regs they Pass the Gene to ALL the fry.. Is that not worth 50.00? And regardles of his color .. His structure Bounces ugly balls off most most EBJD's.
Maybe to the general Public... But to a breeder.. WEll 50.00 is a minute price to pay.
I understand what you are saying. Most of the EBJD's are crap and I think mine has crap genetics as well. Slow growing, slight beak face, and just doesn't have that overall look that I hoped for. But the fish pictured does not look like what us (the public that knows nothing about it) thinks a EBJD should look like. So maybe we just don't know what we should be looking for because so many poorly bred EBJD's are on the market right know.
T's looks more like a low quality EBJD, the OP JD looks like a typical JD and i can't say it's worth $50.

WEll The breeders are hopefully working on What the peeps I see workin on them are doing... Still.. I am in the same boat you are I bought from Rapps.. And although His EBJD's some of them anyway.. Live past 3"... His are by far some of the worst lookin ones out there 
Though... There are some nice breeds coming out.. Really.. I am working on getting some Wild Caught JD's. But That is not to simple.. I only trust a few people.. And Getting A wild Caught group is rough anyway.. Do to the availability..
The beak grows on you.. But still it is unsightly to know what a JD is supposed to look like and then to see what many Golds and Blues look like .. Ya know?
Still When they come out with Color and Structure... !! Then that will be something special
And although it seems that some are getting closer.. I am sure one day soon that a few breeders are going to come out with some really well structured stuff... It has to be attainable.! It just has to be!!

boy this thread sure turned into something! for what its worth, remember that the OP was asking how much we would pay for his "EBJD". i pointed out that his fish looks nothing like a ebjd and it wouldnt fetch any more money than a regular jd. to be honest, THAT fish shows no characteristics of anything other than a regular jd. ive seen jds that are very blue and that is not one of them.
does it carry the ebjd traits or whatever in its DNA? maybe. i dont know. but you wont know unless you breed it. and frankly, i dont care if it does or not. if im gonna buy a ebjd and pay a premium price for it you better bet your behind it will look like a blinging ebjd. even blue jd's are nothing fancy to me.

i did read the thread and i think its a regular jd and that the guy got riped off. period. if it is a ebjd than good for him, what can i say he still got ripped off imo, a ebjd is 25$ over here at 2-3 inchs
yea i don't think it looks anything like a EBJD and if it is its definitely not worth 50$... sorry dude but you got ripped off. but you learn from your mistakes
