How to convince parents to get another aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think being respectful and grateful to your parents is a must, no matter how much they know or don't know about your hobby or fish biology. That includes ...

I'll got an a in science so I'll tell them my teacher told me. And what if I put in 2 convicts?

... not lying too. First, indeed simply talk to your teacher about all this, so then you could honestly say that yes you spoke with your teacher and are following their advice. It's so exceedingly simple that lying in this scenario is even ridiculous, not only wrong altogether.

I agree with other peers that

[1] getting good grades
[2] being well behaved
[3] being obedient to your parents and
[4] showing how responsible and earnest you are with your new endeavor and how much you have been learning through it

should in general melt the heart of any sensible parent and they will be MUCH more responsive to anything you ask.

You gotta give to receive. It goes without saying so much, that often we forget this truth altogether.

My school ended already so I can't ask my science teacher and I already tried to explain to them that you can't keep 2 goldfish which grow over to a foot long in a 20 gallon long. I mean it's not a bad thing to not know much about aquariums but dismissing pretty basic information like cycling is especially when the health of 2 fish are at risk. They act like the saying is don't believe ANYTHING you read on the internet not don't believe EVERYTHING you read on the internet. My dad said this when I asked if I could order a water test kit off amazon "Imabot, it doesn't make sense to spend 30 dollars on 2 30 cent fish,". He acts like he's a expert when he barely knows that fish need a filter.

These things worked for me. I had to hit an average to get my fish, not sure what a minus is but I needed to get 75% average

An a minus in general is like 90 percent to 93 percent. I should say I didn't really do any extracurriculars this school year.

Ah. The US school system is easy apparently, and grade 8(?) Stuff is usually easy too.

I'm aiming for 80 in my exams (writing now)

Do you get pocket money at all?

US education is way too easy compared to South East Asia (Viet Nam), high school student start to learn Calculus (Math) before enter College, and Community College kids in US still learn Algebra. I rememberedmy time in College in NJ, I owned pretty much everything related to Math because their math system level way below compared to my country, I just bad with English since it's not my native languages. lol

I "get" 5 dollars allowance each week. He rarely gives it to me. Sometimes, when I ask he shows me the credit card bills on an app on his phone like he's the only person who pays these type of bills. I live in California which is harder than the rest of the US according to my friend who moved from ohio in 6th grade. Still pretty easy though. I'm going into 8th grade.

That's a good bit more than me, but anyway see if you can save to put towards this setup. May make your parents more willing
