Can do 1. heat and salt or 2. Meds.

Heat to 86degrees. Increase by a degree an hour. Add salt at a 1 tsp per gallon x3 (6hrs apart). With every water change then replace the amount of salt taken out. Cont to gravel vacuum and get a powerhead to kee water churning. Keep like till all the spots disappear. Once all the spots are gone cont for atleast 10 more days.

Can do meds. Like Kordon ich, api ich cure or seachem paragaurd.

Pick one method. What ever is easier for u to do and accomplish. Best of luck!

I am going to take a guess you are feeding feeders like goldfish, or minnows from a LFS, bait shop, or wild caught, and this is how the dovii got the ick.
Or, you tried to introduce a tank mate without quarantining it first.
Best cure is prevention, feed pellets, and terrestrial insects,
don't feed disease carriers.

I've done both treatments in different tanks (heat/salt and Rid Ich). If for some reason it returns I'd go with Rid Ich just because it is quicker. Only drawbacks I found with Rid Ich is that it can stain your silicone blue and the water will definitly be tinted during treatment. So viewing of the tank will be a bit off for a few days. But I guess a blue tank is better than spot covered fish.
