So am I crazy thinking I can replicate the work of Takashi Amano and create one of his amazing aqua forests? This idea has been in my head for months now and I've been itching to give it a shot.

Has anybody here tried to set up somethign similar? Results? I looked through this forum but I havent seen anything close. How hard would this be? Is it even humanly possible?

Also, how do I find out what plants he uses, like the ground cover? Its beautiful. I know, CO2, lighting, what else? Help me out here!

Here's some of my favorites from his gallery. I really like his setups that look like mountain landscapes with some simple groundcover and rockwork. STUNNING!

micro sword maybe?? its to big to be hairgrass.

jcardona1, dude, you obviously have skills, if I might I would like to suggest that you don't try to imitate anyone, you can use the methods of Amano and explore your own take on his methods but own the results, make them yours. I've seen the photos you posted, you don't have to imitate anyone. I have been keeping fish for 45 years, I almost always go for the look I see when I'm scuba diving, it's not always pretty (it can be) but to me it's the way I want it to look. Go for what you think is right, for the way that looks good to you.

thanks man! appreciate the kind words

Looks like Echinodorus tenellus.

Has anyone ever been able to actually grow a carpet of hair grass? I've tried many times but this plant seems to be one I cannot grow.

Yep. Course it was more work to get rid of then to grow.
