Are you on a wind up? I've suggested that something might not be necessary, it's called a discussion, you are not interested in a discussion all you seem to want to do is whinge. I've noticed there are some extremely young people on here, I can only assume you're around 15.

I see the emotional response was high to my assertions and I understand why obviously. Not everyone, even people in the hobby for years such as myself, have located and or have access to a true diehard trustworthy LFS with progressive filtration that is completely trustworthy. I don't deny that's a hard thing for all but the most skilled, adept hobbyists to locate and gauge.


In that respect you all are wrong but right statistically in your supreme wrongness.

-Most people, even most tenured hobbyists on internet forums, won't be able to ever locate a priceless diehard LFS with progressive filtration and a giant, tenured setup, this is true.

-Most people are not statistically capable of keeping their fish healthy period, so while entirely wrong in your wrongness there is truth, most people are incapable of finding a good LFS (not some POS with great air conditioning, a REAL LFS with weird fish people that looks like a place no one with a Polo shirt ever walked in from the road before you pull in).


Yes if we're going off those realities then yes, I agree, perhaps the POS water that your internet wholesaler sent you is indeed questionable and you should be cautious.

However if you have a great LFS then you already know that their water is fine. The argument that a great LFS's water (better quality water than any of you will *ever* achieve in your tank) is dangerous is simply inaccurate.

Using such big words and so aggressive for only having 9 posts. New to the forum and acting like you own it.

And how do you know they wouldn't have been just fine without doing it at all? I've never done it and I've also been fine, where are you going with this?

In the bodybuilding world we call this sort of thing 'bro-science'.

Just because something happens to work or at least 'appears' to do so, doesn't mean that it's either necessary or the most effective way to do something.

If you're going to debate in what is clearly a hot topic, please have a little more substance than what you've demonstrated to me thus far...

Your substance is empirical data backed without a shred of science. If your substance is based on a limited perspective why would you come here and throw it around as fact, only to insult someone with a differing opinion?

The only fish I've ever quarantined have been marine wild caught and F0 freshwater. I personally don't think there's any need to quarantine a tank bred fish. A pathogen that will affect a healthy fish these days is almost unheard of. A fish with ick does not just infect the rest of the tank with ick, that's not how it works.

I lost half my tank due to ich. All the fish that did die went within 3 days of putting the bad fish in the tank. All of the fish were healthy, I was doing my daily %40 water changes, and I kept my nitrates below 10 (I think around 5).

Fact? Did you actually read what I said? I offered a logical reason as to why I would do something the way I do and offered my opinion on it.

The guy came back with 'well it's worked so it must be fine'. I didn't say people were wrong for doing it, I said personally I don't think it's necessary.

I offered my thoughts on a topic, that's all.

Am I the only one who had trouble understanding the OP's first post because of how poorly written it was, but then was stumbled as to why they all of the sudden used such big words in the next few? The only thing wrong were the words used. "Supreme Wrongness" LMAO!

I'm having a hard time getting my head around the attitudes in here, I offer an opinion based on logic and some discussion with some VERY experienced fish owners/dealers and the first response I get is a sarcastic smart ass reply. What's the point in a forum if that's the sort of crap that's banded around?

Only a few people on this forum tend to be extremely sarcastic. Sarcasm is the only way to keep your likes up on this forum, and That's why Tig Phish is doing so well.
