America is one screwed up country, alot of things about it are just rediculas, i dont think you will see jail time, maybe just community service or at most a braclet

It would cost more to keep him up in jail than itd be worth for 18 over, besides why would they do that when they could suck some fines and possibly some free labor out of him?
18 Miles is about 26 kilometres or so. If someone did 18 miles over the speed limit on a standard highway in Queensland, they would be doing 125km/h. That itself is worth some punishment. Your scenario is quite different being that the highway was pretty much deserted and clear. 8 Lanes to me just sounds like the construction workers have too much asphalt on thier hands. The most that is ever on our highways is 4 lanes.
In Ontario, if you are caught doing 50km/h over the speed limit its an automatic impounding of the car, pretty hefty fine, points and probable reckless driving charges.
WTF is with america and WAY over punishing people for medial things? If you go 25kms over the limit here you get a fine and 1 month licence suspension. You used to have to be 30kms over but they recently changed that.
i feel for you. If i'm not mistaken 22mph+ they can take you to jail...(Texas)
i was goin 105 this morning to work cause people like to be douche bags
they'd slow way down and kept brake checking me....i wasn't riding their A** and i didn't have on my brights... it's not my fault they choose to lower an already low car, i have really bright low beams (i live out in the sticks) they come in handy where i live. then he tries to race me once i pass him!!
first he doesn't want me to go fast... then he wants to race me!!!
i lost the rice burner in traffic.
btw i got to work on time!
