If u are a non profit organization, the cost of shipping the first batch back to asia will bankrupt u.
The reason why farms aren't releasing aros is very simple:
1. Farm bred aros will corrupt the wild population gene pool.
2. Poaching is extremely prolificient in these countries. Any released aros would just be caught and re sold.
3. As CITIES looks at asian arowanas as a species S.Formosus, the current wild population of wild greens and other lower grade asians that aren't poached are currently adequate and no need for any reintroduction program.
4. Its much safer to have a large population of captive breeding stock in case of a "what if" scenario. Plus the cpative stock can be kept safe and monitored much better than in the wild.
