Can anyone tell me how fast a Jardini is supposed to grow? Does it grow slower than the Asians? I know it grows slower than the silver. I want to make sure that I am providing it with enough food to ensure proper growth.

Wish someone would comment on this as well. Never really seen a solid answer. I’ve heard that it takes years for them to hit 2ft and in other forums people will say their jar got to 2ft in a couple of years. I have one atm that’s 19” and last time I saw it was almost 3 years ago and it was 14” ish

Mine hit 20" in under 2 years and then almost stopped he's 3 now and about 20 1/2- .
Mine eats what ever the Oscars get. Good pellets 2-3 times a day. I throw in all kinds of bugs and garden worms
Loves shrimp and cut fish about 2-3 times a week, occasionally mice or baby quail.
The only fish it's gets along with are large Oscars and fast adult silver dollars. Eats out of my hand and is not timid or spooky
The 6 th. pic. He's sound asleep.

Mine has been around in my area for about 4 years or so. I’ve bought it and sold it and just now bought it back lol. When I first got it it was around 13” now 4 years later it looks to be a little over 18”. I wonder if it’s stunted? He’s a very picky eater so I wonder if that has something to do with its very slow growth.

Could be.?
In a single spawn in all fish you will have some that are bigger than average and some that are smaller.
I have 4 mono peacocks out of the same spawn one is About 13" and the smallest is only about 7" the other 2 about 9-10 "
They are about 1year old now.

Your jardini looks nice and tall and healthy . Looks supper . I would not worry about it. What's 6 ", it's 4years or older and still alive and healthy. ??? . Most people's die in under a year from improper care.

Thank you! Definitely an awesome fish to have in my living room. My 2 year old loves talking to it and hanging out near the tank lol
