Well seriously, there's already been threads on illegal immigration that went the same way.
Even putting a peaceful quote like that is bound to start something. Why else would you have posted it other than to get reactions from people.
What DID you expect. You are bound to get replies. Did you think they would all be things like:
"Oh, what a beautiful quote"
"Why, yes, that is such a lovely quote"
"My stars, why didnt i think of that"
I'm sorry if i sound rude. But i think you should have known what would happen.
And in the early 1900's, San Diego had very few people living here.
The united states was not as populated as it is now.
Heck, just 20 years ago, San Diego had a population of 1 million. Now its 3 MILLION. You cant compare the early 1900's to today on any respect.

Actually, they do carry machine guns. And our border patrol officers are in extreme danger every day. So if they need to gun some of them down for their protection and the protection of this country, i'm all for it.
As far as gunning down illegals purely for pleasure and the fact that they are illegal, YES that's bad.
But SARCASM is a wonderful thing to undestand. And i fully appreciate it and practice it daily.
You can not use historical aspects and apply them to modern policies. Yes this country was based around immigration, just like every other country in this world, that still does not mean that anyone who feels like coming here can do so.
Immigration is still a very important aspect and that is why the United States has various ways of obtaining citizenship. I came to the United States 8 years ago and received my citizenship 2 years ago after following proper procedures and filing proper paperwork. I did that without breaking any laws while working and paying for my own living without being a burden on the rest of the taxpayers.
The illegal immigrants should be gathered, and they should be returned back to Mexico, while the border protection should be enforced. As jokingly as someone said about machine guns at the borders, that is exactly the way it is in Europe.. and it appears to be working.

Completely correct. Mexico has one of the most strict policies with bordering their country. I quote the Mexican Government saying " We have strict immigration policies because you wouldnt want all those El Salvadorians running around here now do you?" That was a quaote from a country that assists their residents to commit a crime by helping them to cross our borders. The residents are escorted to our borders by the Mexican army on several occasions. The Mexican military were armed also on these occasions with machine guns. NO, Mexican illegal immigrant jump our border and expect to have it all given to them, and if we dont, well hell, they sue. Did you know in 2002, Ontario California had an issue before them. Mexicans, legal and illegal were fighting and protesting because they thought they deserved their own City Hall? WTF. Hmmm... I guess they dont even consider us all equal if they feel the need to have and run their own type of government on our soil. So you can take that to the banco popular! Im outa here Pedro!
