Heh. Guys want heavy? Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Devourment, Vital Remains, Necrophagist, etc...

Personally, I don't consider Ill Nino, L.O.G., Seether, or Stone Sour metal...At all. Not saying they are bad, just saying they aren't metal. Seen Ill Nino and L.O.G., saw L.O.G. at a Fear Factory concert, saw them at ozzfest, and saw the, when they opened for Children of Bodom waaaaaay back in the day. Decent, put on a good live show, lotta energy. But not metal.

Then again, there are only a select few groups from USA that I consider metal, outside of the death/grindcore scene. (i.e. Symphony X, Kamelot, Iced Earth, etc.)

not too much anymore but a great band...

How are they not metal? Because they don't fall into the sub genre of death metal doesn't mean they are not metal.

Heh, where did I mention that "if they don't fall into the sub genre of death metal, they aren't metal"? Look at my post. You obviously got that from me saying that some of the few American metal groups I like are Symphony X, Iced Earth, and Kamelot...riiiiight. When I think Death metal, Kamelot is the first to jump into mind :screwy:

No, I don't consider them metal for the lack of solo's personally. While L.O.G. at least attempts them every now and then, it just seems like glorified rock to me, not metal. Metal has its own air/atmosphere to it. The afore mentioned groups just seem childish when compared to Iron Maiden, or Blind Guardian, or At The Gates. But, to each his own.

Oh, and don't take my post to mean I don't enjoy them...I just don't think they are metal. Looking at your list, There are a few of those type of bands that I listen to/have listened to...A Perfect Circle, Coal Chamber (seen them), Disturbed (Seen them), Flaw, Godsmack (seen them), In Flames (Old school, up until about 2001, Chilled with Anders, 'nuff said), Mudvayne (Old school L.D.50 is amazing, chilled with all but the singer), Nothingface (Met all of them, they grew up around 30 min from my house, my friend is a really good friend of matt holt, great guys), Otep (Seen them, shes a beast for such a tiny girl), Skinlab, Slipknot (Seen them a couple times, used to put on a great show, not so much these days), etc....
