Longterm Oscar bloat - what can be done?

Ill read about it a bit more! Going to wait a few days and just starve him. I'll switch my pleco's to a zucchini diet instead of algae wafers, incase he is eating algae wafers the next morning and getting bloated. Not sure if they are all gone over the night.

Was recommended this one from my LFS. He however did warn that it can be quite brutal on fish, but the product page says different. Thoughts?

Exactly. In alot of cases medicating only makes the situation worse. It is better to keep the fish's environment extra clean and wait. In cases of bloat epsom salt can certainly help.
There are people on these forums with alot of experience in fish care. Make sure you take the advice of (most) fish/pet store employees with a grain of salt.

Just so worried to use epsom salt, as I have another source saying it will do nothing, or possibly kill him (trusted member from another large forum). So very conflicting tips, from high rep people.

Can epsom salt be provided via food? He strongly suggested against that, but honestly if it works, that feels much better than salt baths. He would likely freak out from being transfered to a tub of epsom salt water..

No, you add it to the water for bloat treatment. I wouldn't use the methods you listed. tlindsey provided a link in her post above which has directions, I guess you didn't read it.

If the Oscar is eating adding the epsom to the tank will help...as well as soaking food in the solution; however, I would think feeding should be sparse to...fasting. I actually saved a few Africans with internal parasites with the pipette method I learned from RD. before I actually new him...just researching cures back then. I have also used metro flake from time to time for fish that were still eating, but not sure of its efficacy. The epsom salt is not permanent...so the hardness will only be temporary for a few weeks; however, it can greatly ease the fish's GI for sure. kno4te would be a good person to ask about those meds! Sorry for dropping names guys hehe.
