Honestly I thought of geos reading what you wanted but that's not a cat lol. And I'm not saying the fish won't be big enough, but you want it to be tough enough to take a bite, remember most cats only have a slime coat for protection. Because something seems big doesn't mean the bichirs won't try, because it'll try also doesn't mean it will succeed. I'm sure you know all of this though lol was just giving an example for you since you kept mentioning how tall bodied a syno may turn out
