Amazing catch.
I am glad you caught those fry as have seen what looked to be dull colored jewel cichlids but wasnt sure. Thought maybe hybrids.
.I have the torquise green in my pond so recognize the fish however the canal types are very dull in comparison thus wasnt sure.

But now that you caught all those fry I imagine they are.

Do you keep what you catch ? I dont have big tanks and enough ponds lol so take pics and thats it.

Im keeping the fry and the managuense and the midas/red devil thingy. They will go in a 125g for now until we can get a larger tank soon i hope :D The mayans we just took a pics and through back. Were dying to catch baby and juvenile peacock bass and other smaller cool things :D:naughty:

Its funny I have never seen a peacock bass smaller then 5 inches .

I have caught 5 inches and up in canals but the small babies type sold like in aquabid, etc must live in terror and hide as never saw one .

The small cichlids for me are IMPOSSIBLE to catch they flee if I go close with a hand held net attached to broom handle and wont go near anything strange but I try lol and hope one day .

It is funny when others are fishing the same canal for big peacock and I have the tiniest hook possible with tiny bit of earthworm trying to place it in front of a 3 inch cichlid lmao.

They look at you like your insane and laugh.

we don't keep everything, especially not the bigger stuff, but we're really looking for smaller cichlids that can go in the 55 or 125

But but but but i wanna keep it!!! WAAHHH:cry::cry::cry:

we are keeping what we have, but we're not going to accumulate every red devil and mayan we catch

That first one is AWESOME. What was it called again? Looks almost like a Peacock Bass crossed with a Jack Dempsey. I know that's not possible, but if you crossed them digitally on a computer or...more simply morphed them, the 2nd option being much easier:screwy: that's what it would look like.
