The mota has taken a liking to ripping off a scale or 2 here or there on the jardini... gonna keep an eye on it and see if it gets too out of hand and rehome the jardini sooner than planned.
(you can see black Mark's on the jardini where scale have been plucked)
Midas is still the boss and puts the mota in place when need be.
I can def start seeing more of an aggressive tank than I did a few weeks ago. Will keep updating week by week

Wouldn’t be surprised if one day that motaguense decides enough is enough and goes crazy. I’ve seen cichlids do that before, especially parachromis. It’s like they hide and plot until the time is right to make their move. Imho I’d keep a close eye on him. The Midas may keep him in check but that may change as they mature.

You got it man! I always pay close attention to the tank... I hear people saying the midas will be the problem.. others say the mota...and then there is the chance it just works out... we shall see... I have someone taking the jardini this weekend.. so that's good haha

Just thought I would show you a pic of how these barbs have been picked off RD. RD. only happens during the night too... it looks more like the pleco would be skinning them alive then being bit by one of the cichlids... but I could def be wrong lol

Quick vid of my jack and the 2 clowns.
I can tell the jack is annoyed with them bickering.. she keeps going over and staring them down when they fight with one another and stops them lol
Both of the young ones are getting close to her size... midas is just about as tall and about an inch short while the mota is almost at her 8.5 inch length... both are turning into complete stunners... so far so good.

Cool videos! Really like the moat. It’s cool the jack breaks the two up.
I’m sure you are aware but I wouldn’t expect the jacks reign as alpha to last much longer. Hopefully they play nice when they dethrone her.

Oh hell no! lol shes always done well for herself with other cichlids and stuck up for herself... but by the time the other 2 get her size... which shouldnt be much longer than a couple months then I'll havto keep a good eye on em for sure. I'll always keep updating the thread as time goes by.. not gonna hide anything that goes on in this tank
