Hi guys I am getting a 250L tank in 2 weeks, it is the largest I can afford to get and currently it will be a community tank.

Are there any mini monsters/ predators I can keep in that that can be fed pellet as a base diet.
Also better if they can be kept in groups of 3 or more..

Any suggestions would be cool

Well if you're looking for mini monsters. I would say exodons but thy are more of a species only tank. Otherwise for community I would go with a large group of tiger barbs and a school of cories for bottom dwellers.

I was thinking of an African biotope but it would be a bit expensive, bushfish are nice but polypterus are a bit touch and go to find here. I am going to investigate

Do a bunch of dwarf puffers with other small fish, that way you get the best of all worlds... Plus could even go planted that way ;)

African biotope....African butterfly fish, bushfish, and a Senegalus or delhezi. That'll cover ur zones in the water column.

Like fat homer said. A group of dwarf puffers look good.

Yea maybe I could replace an African knife (originally wanted) with polypterus
But do bichirs move a lot? I would like a bit of movement.
What could I keep with puffers, I read they attack almost anything

The African knife can be added to what I mentioned.

Upper jaws like palmas polli, senegalus, and delhezis will move around especially if there's food.

Puffers I would advise as a species only tank.

African knives cost R550, that is like $35 (rough)
