monster tank owners worst nitemare!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Have you gotten a better idea about the cause. Was it for sure the wrong glue/solvent? What has the manufacture had to say or have you contacted them. I know the company changed hands but that doesnt always mean your out of luck. Alot of time when you purchase a company you are also purchasing thier liabilities also. I'm feelin for ya, good luck!

SHIOT. My 450g 8x4x2 is from him! He's a really nice guy.. that sucks. When did you get yours? I got mine in March I think. Maybe he figured out what he was doing wrong by then!

Woody also told me that he WAS fixing aquariums that were built improperly by the previous owner. He uses that two part polymer stuff that melts the acrylic together, not the capilary stuff that's got to seep into the joint. What he told me makes sense. Let me know how he handles you. He's about an hour from my house. I can go ruffle him up if you need :)

that sucks, so did the whole front panel just blow out? it doesnt look like it was cracked at all

i went to their website and found this quote

Construction Method – We DO NOT use capillary cementing on our
tanks as this is NOT recommended for aquariums!! Some fabricators
use capillary cementing to save time and money and charge less -
Ask yourself this: is a few hundred gallons of water on your floor
worth saving a few dollars? We employ a two part Polymerization
method which is not only stronger but creates a virtually invisible
seam that lasts forever!

Kind of ironic i would say

lol..you can tell by the photo's that the seams completely failed..no tearing of the acrylic except the right side..the front sheet of acrylic came off at the seam like it had just been cut.i appreciate the offer of assistance, very nice gesture!@ i will email the "new owner" pictures of the aquarium he has on his home page..it was really beautiful, a real work of art that turned out to be "a real work of art"!insurance ajuster comes tomorrow, i'll let you all know the outcome afterwards..thanks again for the support!

Wow! i am so sorry you have this mess to deal with--but im glad your son and the fish are ok. Keep us up to date as to what the insurance co says.. Keeping my fingers crossed that your insurance helps you make out good in all this!

I agree that Woody didn't choose his pics right. He uses the polymers... The old owner used the other stuff. When I was there ordering my tank he had at least one tank in his shop that he was fixing that was purchased from the old owners.

If mine blows out, I am sure that I will change my mind, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience dropping $2500 on a fish tank... lol.

I hope he'll pro-rate you a new tank at the very least.
