Here in Vancouver we actually have high PH hard water. Our city water is drawn from three Limestone aquifers.

No need for the sand in that capacity then. Up in my area of WA, we tend to be at 7 and if you run lots of driftwoods in the tank you can get PH drops pretty easily.
New tank is now inplace, oak tank moved into my bedroom.

I want a black background on my tank. From what I've gathered the black background makes a lot of fishes color really pop. Instead of painting mine I might use black poster board and double sided tape. Not sure yet. Now that you have all of your tanks set up are you ordering any fish yet?

My 3rd tank is not fully ready till heater and air pump show up tomorrow.Looking good

As far as new fish goes. I had called Kevin at TUIC about Lyonsi, he said the should be in by mid month. So earliest I could get them is possibly next week, more than likely will be the following.
Sounds good. You're getting closer. I can't wait to see those Lyonsi. They're gonna be bad@$$.
