I remember when I first moved in with my wife (when we were dating) I had so many freaking tanks. And then I got my 3rd 125 and i needed a place to put it. Mind you we lived in a one bedroom apartment. On the first floor of course. I looked around and said..
Me: We dont have company much do we baby?
Her: Actually yes we do.
Me: Do they sit?
Her: Yes. Where is this going?
Me: Well I just threw out the futon so they gotta stand then.
Her: I hate you.

Ah, those were the happy days......

haha sounds like my g/f, we live in a one bedroom apartment with a 125 and a 5 1/2 right now, but im about to get 55 AND 90.... I TOLD HER i was gunna put them in the dining room and she flipped..... until i told her id set up the 55 as a salt water tank for her.... things got a little better after that

Me: Mom, I want a bigger tank
Mom: No.
Me: Pleeez?
Mom: No.months later
Me: Pleeeeeaaaaassseeee? I'll put purdy fiish in it...
Mom: No.
Christmas tommorrow
Mom: I had the tank for 1 month prepared for chrismas!
Me: :???:

i slowly stock up my tank haha! my parents hate it when i talk about fish keeping related stuff. when i get a bigger tank they yell at me but they also cant do anything about it haha. my excuse.....my fish are getting big and its animal cruelty if they dont have enough room haha. also i told my parents i bought my datnoid for $15 but really it was $45 ahaha

at first my dad said NO to my first 55, so me and my sis snuck it into the house and set it up lol. now my parents actually like my fish tank. i convinced my mom to buy me my current tank(100 gal) for christmas of las year... i told her that the 55 was leaking, it wasnt, so she went out and got my a brand new 100 :D. but they only will allow my to have one and only one tank. but im allowed to upgrade to a bigger tank.

My life:
Me: [studying at my desk]
Parent: [walks into my room] MATT! STOP SPENDING SO MUCH TIME WITH YOUR FISH TANK!
Me: [walking out of my room to get a water]
Parent: MATT! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT WASTING YOUR TIME WITH YOUR FISHTANK!
Me: [Coming back from fridge with water in hand]
Parent: MATT! STOP STARING AT YOUR FISH TANK!
Me: [monthly water change]
Parent: MATT! WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS WORKING ON YOUR FISH TANK!? GO STUDY FOR SAT!

=) slightly exaggerated.

when i got into it i had a 10 gal the rents were cool with it then when i got more serious i came home with a 135 and they were trippin but they got used to it. now i got a 480 and they dont even know what to say anymore haha!!! i just bring it home what can they do when its there lol.

when I lived with my dad his oppinion didn't matter too terribly much when it came to my tank size, I was more limited by the fact that my room had scary chincy plywood floors, I'm pretty sure he'd have skinned me alive if I set up a tank big enough to wind up in the kitchen below me though, and rightly so.

My dad's only been to my house once where I'm at now, and all he wants to talk about are how awesome the 150g saltwater tank looks next to the 73" DLP, and that I need to "stop dating lesbians, get married and make him some grandkids" My dad clearly dates the wrong kinds of lesbians.:grinno:

To the wife:

Me: Got some more tanks today for a great deal. Fish rooms going to be setup soon.
Her: How many do you have now?
Me: I've lost count, 30 or so. (Not all filled)
Her: Good lord.
Me: LOL
(End Conversation)

Couple months later.....
Me: Guess what I bought?
Her: I don't know, probably another fish tank.
Me: Yeah its a 210G.
Her: Where are going to put that?
Me: In the basement.
Her: Oh....
(Close of conversation)

Couple months later....
Me: Guess what I'm getting?
Her: How big is it?
Me: Let me just say that it is pretty big.
Her: How big?
Me: Big.
Her: Quite messing with me, how big?
Me: You know the big one downstairs? (210)
Her: Yeah?
Me: Liitle over twice the size of that one.
Her: What?" Where are you going to put that?
Me: In the basement.
Her: Oh
(End conversation)

I love being able to do what I want!! LOL

My mom actually doesnt mind! I guess she is much happier with me getting more fish then me getting more loud parrots :P

She HATES my oscar though. Everytime I say someone is coming by to pick up fish she always perks up "OH! Are you finally getting rid of that big one?"

Ahhhh... mom's and their hopeless dreaming XD
Just wait until I end up getting an arrowanna!!

me: Dad can I have this 60 gallon?
Dad: sure
