My poor Oscar and my first CA Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If he is eating I say JD is fine but would offer bloodworms every once in awhile as a treat.

Yeah, not going to be a usual food item. I forgot, the JD was also the craziest fish I have ever had in the bag. It was going absolutely insane

I was so worried about the little guy, I didn't acclimate him for the proper length of time (I did add prime to the bag as soon as it was opened)

Also, what are your guy's thoughts on JD's? Decent replacement for my Oscar?

I personally would do thorough research on compatability with the Australian Bass before adding the JD to the aquarium.

Well he is good so far. ☺

I would say yes because of how large the Oscar would get and your bio load of your filter.

My bioload was never a big issue due to 3 sponge filters, 1 large HOB and 3000 l/h cannister and the Oscar being the only fish at that time in the tank

The sad thing is, my Oscar was a part of the family. Sometimes he would for whatever reason get the grumps with me and a family member would have to feed him. But he was an aggressive Oscar, killed all tanks mates except 2 (the Bass and bn) which had to be rehomed has he was trying to kill them. Plus 3 broken heaters, 1 filter, 3 thermometers and god knows how many plants lol
