Nice to see your back in the game :)

Nice to see you're still around too bro! Hopefully things will be getting much better for me really soon. Life has really laid the smack down over the last 3 years!

Good to see you back and a moderator too? Snazzy.
I always have a lot of catfish questions. Hopefully we will see you around the bottom dwellers area more. Your catfish knowledge is very welcome. Your video skills.............
Anyway it's great to see you posting again!

I appreciate it. Most of the vids were taken with cell phone. The last one was with my new waterproof cam. Got another one to post up later today of my other tank. I've actually been a moderator for a while. Bottom dwellers is my territory. Promise to be in there more. Been working 2 jobs 7 days a week but that's about to change. Haven't exactly been moderating very much but good things come in time. Nice to see some familiar faces in here still!

Lol here's a vid of my 30 gal. It has an ID shark and raphael cat. Not fantastic but do take my cam underwater lol. As you can see I'm partial to catfish still but the town I currently live in has pretty much nothing to offer unless you like cories or common plecos.

hmm for some reason the edit option won't come up on this thread. Let's try that link again.

You look to have a rare cat there, that Dorad looks to be Orinocodoras eigenmanni not your run of the mill Platydoras ;)

I agree!!!! (to be fair I had to google some of the words but I knew where he was coming from) It's lean compared to the common Raphael cat and the stripes look very defined along the spines. Can you put the video camera down and take a couple clear pictures? :)

That would be cool guys but to no dismay it is 100% Platydoras armatulus. Note the very small adipose fin in comparison to O. eigenmanni. Also note the snout is more blunted and the eyes larger. Good call though. Made me double think when you said that also lol. I had origionally purchased this fish about 3 years ago before my divorce went down, and my old friend kept it for me when I moved out of town along with the fish in my other videos. He wasn't much of a fish guy and all of the fish became stunted. None of them had grown at all in the 2 years that he had them before I got them back about 8-9 mos ago. I had ID'd this guy back then, but you guys made me rethink myself. He along with the other fish I rescued back are all a lil deformed due to stunting. Some are more than others. The channel catfish in my 100 gal aquarium is nearly 3 years old and only 14". He was 6-8" when I got him back and has grown 8"+ in the 8 mos I've had him back. His neurocranium is highly deformed whereas in his stunted state it looked normal before he started to grow again. I've noted that the fins on this platydoras are rather large in comparison to his body and have started to get an akward curve to them with the increased growth as of late. even he has grown about 1.5" since I got him back. The only new fish is the ID shark. I've had him a couple of months and he won't eat much himself. This platy eats like a champ like every other platydoras lol. I'll try to get some pics of him but it's rather difficult in a hex tank and him trying to hide all the time!

great seeing you back, you may not remember me but I really felt for you when you said what happened.. a big welcome and I hope to see another great build from you when you find the right time to do so.. just loved it when I saw the "tour of the tank-vid" for the first time and you put your hand through the wall for the filtration.. anyways.. just wanted to say welcome back..

here's the best pic I could get and I had to take it underwater lol. Hex tanks suck for taking pics. :nilly:
