  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
think he wants to know what it reads straight from the tap, test the tap water, just get a test from the tap. not from the tank.

so that water was in the tank,,,?..good,,, if that came straight from the faucet it would pose a problem..for you and your fish ,,just read the response ,,that tapwater is an issue,,that much ammonia in tapwater has to be a health hazzard

Ok I am confused the last photo I posted was from me filling the tube from the master test kit up from the sink in my bathroom, idk if my kit was wrong or something but the ammonia was like that straight from my sink.

that is what I thought after your last post ,,, I am not an expert on water quality issues in general but AMMONIA is poison,,,to almost any living creature ,,TO ME ,,, and others might know different .. that is were the issue with the cycling problem probably resides...starting out with that much ammonia ,every time you do a water change you put big stress on the fish(I am referring to your other tank, with fish) ,,,see if you can take a sample to a local fish shop tomorrow to confirm

Ok this test kit is all over the place I test from my sink just now again and it's way lower about .5 I am taking a sample from my sink and my tank to my lfs as soon as possible but we are having crazy bad weather in South Carolina right now. I know the guy advised against buying a API test kit but the only one they sold at his shop was a custom one they make for like $120 and I am not doing that haha
