Ya clean it just like any other tank...it just takes alot longer Gravel vac when needed and water changes for me are usually to top it off currently because the paremeters take a long time to change negatively ~Trent
I had to break the pond down for a few weeks but it went successfully and is currently at the local pond store fish/pond all of it. The fish moving wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be but moving the 250-300lbs of sand from it was a real pain...I haven't decided yet how I want to go about setting it back up. I might ditch the current setup and build a wood framed version with a liner so that it looks better and has less chance of leaks or might build a large insulated outdoor version with a insulated cover and such. I'm sorting through the options as we speak...more updates in a couple weeks and a few pictures of the fish during the movement process. ~Trent
Nonono absolutely not Pat thanks for your concern though. I made an agreement to "lease" some space at the local pond store so I broke the whole setup down and moved it over to the store so that my dad didn't find out it had been in the house....All my beast shovelnose are safe and sound about 2 minutes from my house at the pond store in my pond
Here are a couple pics of them in the pond and the movement process. For reference that net is a little over 2 feet wide. I didn't take the pics myself obviously, I had a friend help but most of the pics turned out pretty good. The planiceps got stuck in the net briefly so thats why I have pics of me holding it since I had to grab it to safely remove it from the net. The tip of one of its pectoral fins had to be snipped (maybe 1/16th of an inch) and I already dosed the setup with melafix to help start the process. Enjoy! ~Trent
