New 1100 Gallon Indoor Pond!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There's a member with the one that has the float ring on top set up for over a year now. He says it's fine. Mine had leaks in the beggining, but I patched them and it's fine now!

I have heard that it is highly recommended to put a 45 mil pond liner over the pool liner. This will keep the pond in much better condition for a longer time.

Did you check to see if the pool liner is safe for fish? I have looked into other pools like this and the liners werent always safe for fish.

I emailed this company and another similar one and they both told me that there product is intended for human use and has no toxic substances in the liner. It makes sense but just to be on the safe side I would get a 45 mil pond liner.

They could be safe for humans but i was told by few companies the liners could have anti alagae and fungus properties which would most likely not be good for fish just something to look into before buy a pool/pond setup make sure your safe.

How many bulkheads does the pond come with? 2 One intake and one exhaust

Did you make any of your own bulkheads? Nope, when the filtration is setup I'm going to route the big filter through the current bulkheads somehow I think

Is it possible to cut the liner without compromising its integrity? sincerely doubtfull, I think it would end up leading to a rip in the liner causing catastrophic failure and a ridiculous amount of water on your floor :(

As far as I know the liner is fish safe... I don't believe there is any sort of chemical in the liner that is anti anything just a basic liner...so far all my fish have been doing fine in there. I've had natives in there for two months and my planiceps and irwini for about 3 weeks.

As far as adding an additional liner, that would add about $200-250 bucks to a pond thats only $100...so thats why I didn't opt to add additional liner plus it would look mad ghetto overhanging on the sides even more so then having a swimming pool fish pond in my house does already ;)

I know I need to update pics but I've been super busy lately and it looks the same as before, hopefully in the next couple weeks it will really take shape. I still haven't moved the TSN in there yet either... I will post some updates soonish though :) ~Trent
