New 300G Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I‘m also about to drill and paint a glass 125 I’m building. Not really looking forward to it.

Wow you are building one? I don't think I could do that, but drilling isn't too bad. I drilled my 75G with 5 holes a couple of years ago. They key is to not force anything just let the diamond tipped hole saw do the work.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think on the build quality. GC was bashed years ago, but I know a few shops that use them as their go to custom tank guys these days.

btw, it looks like the stand does not have doors on it...do the panels / raised areas come off?

I know a Youtuber is buying a tank from Glass cages and they are delaying it due to the silicone not passing their QC. Which, is a good thing if you ask me when it comes to buying large tanks that they do have QC of some sort.

As far as I know mine didn't get delayed, but I went with the black silicone, so it may not have been from the same batch. It looks like they completed mine 12/31 on the slip they sent so it was likely waiting in the shop awhile while the stand got completed and holiday shipping started back up. More pictures, shortly of the stand.

Yep. Anyone care to comment on stand integrity?IMG_1874.jpg

So unfortunately my 75G aqueon sump won't fit through the port holes in the stand. Looks like I am going to have to cut out one side big enough for it and add a door. I had hoped to avoid having to do any carpentry in this project short of hole saw cuts, but it looks like that is not the case. Ahh well. I just need to get some guides up so my cuts are straight. :nilly:
