New fish room, pictures as I go.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Today I pulled all the trim and panels off the wall in the room, used 4.5 cans of great stuff one all the cracks. I now have to wash the walls with bleach since I have discovered mold.

The first stand is done has trim and doors on it, only needs to be stained, I will post pics of the stand once the stain sets.

Looking good so far. Have fun removing all of the mold. You might be better off to replace the drywall.

Looks great so far.

Here you can see the stand ready for stain, and see its level. I still need to put trim and handles on the doors, I took off the trim I had on there becuase I didn't like it.

Do I really need to replace the dry wall? I figured they have to have some type of spray that kills mold, and bleach water should take the mold you can see off.

Wow, good progress so far. Looking good

looks good best thing for the mold is to replace the dry wall because if it is on the outside chances are itis on the other side also

I got tthe 220 stand stained, got the room painted and got some of the floor stripped up, will be starting to lay new tiles this weeked. My goal is to have enough of the room up to get the 220 runing this weekend. My camera broke so I dont have any pictures of my progress.

Need thoughts on my water return

The return will be under the water and streach from one end of the tank to the other. It will have four legs running towards the front of the tank, each leg will have 2 outlets, for a total of 8 retun locations. The return line will be 1" pvc each outlet is reduced to 3/4 and each outlet will have a cap on it with 2 larg slits. The goal is to maintain enough presesure to feed teh whole return, and not have it like a fire hose out of each outlet.

here are 2 pics sorry they are junky cell phone pics.

So please any feed back is welcome, nothing is glueed yet, I just put it in the tank to get an idea, I still have to paint all the pvc. For the caps I am trying to decide if i should have a couple large slits or several holes, o juss not have a cap at all. I am happy not having a cap but I worry that the presure will be low and not flow to all the outlets. the water pressure and volume coming in will be as much as the pvc can handle I have a 3200gph @ 10' pump that will only feed two 1 inch pvc's and one 1/2 pvc. I dont expect problems with the supply.
