**** a brick, your project looks great mate, I look forward to seeing the end product.

SO I woke up pretty happy I could hear the tank running, so I knew it was still up. I had noticed that the holes I drilled in the trickle tower where not big enough so I decided to shut the system down and make them bigger. I shut it down was waiting for the water to stop flowing into the sump when I saw it, a small crack at the bottom of the sump spilling water on the floor. In my rush to grab a pump and empty out the sump out the window rather then my floor I knocked over a whole bottle of purple primer on my new tile floor. The tank is sitting on half of the tile so I cant easily replace it.

While this was a bummer if its the only problem I have I will be happy, I will just replace those tiles when I move since its behind the tank. and I am puting silcone on the crack now.

Quick question for everyone who has used play sand, I thought I could clean it like i did with normal aqarium sand. I filled the tank with sand and water, then drained the tank down about 60% and filled it back up. When I did this with the black moon sand the water was clear after one day, this play sand seems to keep the water muddy looking.

Any suggestions?

I got lucky and only knocked over a bottle of the glue. It was messy but at least it didn't run anything.

As for the sand the only thing I know is either run a bunch of filter floss or be patient. It will eventually clear up.

Sorry to hear about the primer, good luck on the sump fix

Sump is fixed and running again, the fish are loving the UGJ the swim down into them, and then let them blow them to the top. I am sure I will lose some presure when I add the next 55 to it, but I will just toss in a couple power heads.

My only fear is the level, I need to shim it, but I want to thor the numbers out there to make sure I am thinking right.

This is from the top of the tan to the floor, in inches.

Left Front 61 1/16
Right Front 61 4/16

Right Rear 61 2/16
Left Rear 61 4/16

So I think I need to put a shim under the left front and right rear, does this sound right?

Glad to hear everything is ok

Sump sprung another leak, tossed it in the trash bought a new rubber maid tote, but they where out of the 50 gallon tote; so I got a 35 gallon one, and I Will hook two of these together with a 3" bulkhead. The way it is now the sump is big enough to run, but not big enough to hold the water during a power outage.

I tried wood shuims last night and I could only get tehm about 3 fourths of the way before they would split. Do you think composite shims will do better? or do I need to drain the tank get it shimmed.

Quick second question, I have not been able to get teh drip system setup, and might not for a while. how do you change your water? if I get a Python do I just try to mix the hot and cold water together to get as cloos to the tanks temp as possible?

I would drain some water before installing the shims....you don't want your stand to shift because of all that weight.

When I add water using the python I feel the water with my hand and get it as close to the aquarium water temp.
