Sorry for hijacking your thread. I get very fustrated at the way things are going here. Foxhunting Banned, hare coursing banned, Real Action Paintball banned, Handguns banned, knives over 3" banned, knives under 3" being banned being, Airsoft guns being banned, air rifles being banned,...

And soooo many clueless people here support the bans...why would you want one if you dont want to shoot someone? I find that insulting. If you dont like guns, why come on a gun thread. You think commiefornie is fustrating! I'll shut up now. :chillpill:

I use to live in Bowie MD, back when it was still a swamp, Glad to see the DC handgun ban got rolled back.

This is what I'm saving up for Anschutz 2013...what it lacks in punch it makes up for in accuracy! I'll take the dot out the i in pepsi at 50yrds...:naughty: Could take a while to set up though!

Oh I like that Gun!!! I have a couple Anschutz I like a lot.. My wife shoots them more than I (I have a masochistic streak so like my big bore) but they are tack drivers.. I'm not sure why 22lr is given such a crappy reputation. It is about the best most accurate round out there. One of my absolute favorite calibers to work with..

I love .22LR. Currently shooting with a '70's Walther. It still shoots straighter than me, so I got a bit of time to save up for me Anschutz! But I like fullbore too. Thats one of the funniest things about our topsy turvy law. You are allowed a single shot, bolt action rifle with less than 10rd mag. They never specified Caliber.

Rangemaster fiddy! Rule Britannia! 32" Barrel! Oh Yeah Baby...If only I had the cash to splash! There are only 2-3 ranges in the country you can fire them...but hey.

PS Dont tell Neil People still own these over here, it wouldnt be good for his heart!

Erm.. Airsoft is not really very applicable to the real world application an actual firearm is. I have said it before and will say again that these "guns" have a very valid use. I have one that I use to let people familiarize themselves with the SVD sighting system before I let them touch my real one. I also have another (AK) that is used for training in handling and fast target acquisition. However the one thing it seems to fail in is the critical aspect of Firearm discipline and control. These Airsoft matches (I have taken part in a few as OPfor during a couple SWAT sessions.. and creamed them :P ) are a free for all where on can easily see a wide variety of very bad practices being made into "technique".. These are not firearms and should not be taken as such.. I'm personally not dogging you on this but there is a very very big difference in how you react and function in a live fire exercise or operation and one in which is training with little plastic pellets.

We've been over this a few times before and as before i completely except where u stand and i do agree. Its just i dont see why people feel the need to dog me when my experiance and knowledge is more than sufficient to post accurately in this thread.... dont see how or why it matters or that post was justified...

I know, I play, hence I said 'being banned'. This is the first step, there are many MP's who are already saying this doesnt go far enough. Why do you want a realistic gun if you dont want to rob places? You can play paintball...

the sales are ristriced to players registed wioth the goverment...

Am I the only person in the UK who finds this intolerable? They spit freakin' little chunks of plastic! What business is it of the government what I do in my spare time? But not to worry, when they finally decide to totally take over I can fight off the storm troopers with my fists, if they havent banned them!

what site u play? rep for a team??? coming to Ground Zero weekender? if not, do! u can come role with my team... its our home site.... we will prob have comand of 1 of the 3 sides... :D

And to be completely honest... i dont give a muck what the government say.... ive practiced balisong for the last 14ys... will practice balisong for the rest of my life unles i lose the use of both hands... and will carry throughout my life... end of. I grew up in the culture that the media and government are so afraid of... they are not telling me ****....

Hmmmmm.... been off the forum for a little while and have a few comments after catching up on the posts. Im not going to go back and find out who said what but I'll vent.
Shooting the dot on a Pepsi can at 50yds is not a measure of great marksmanship - unless youre using a pistol. You can hit a smaller than man sized target at 500yds with an M-16 and iron sights.
Iron sights are superior to scopes - under most circumstances. Try finding a moving target quickly at short to medium range in your high power scope.
Correct me if Im wrong but did a airsoft player make a claim to some kind of expert in CQB on account of his toy gun experience? And also state that he has more experience than others here? I know Im not the only combat vet on board here and I find the comparison of airsoft to real world ridiculous. If you screw up at airsoft noone dies. In real wporld combat if you screw up - someone dies, If you do it right - someone else dies.
Also, look up blank firing syndrome.

the discussion was not on scopes, it was on reflex sights as i saw it... yeah i made a kinda rash statement. go read it again before taken offense... it was not that badly worded... i am well aware of blank firing syndrome. All i was getting at is that i have enough relivant knowledge to be taken seriously and not made to look like a idiot... with the exception of police, swat military and pmc personel i cant think of many other than airsofters who get the experiance in cqb to really see how effective reflex sights and tac lghts can be... thats all i meant...

No great measure of marksmanship? With pinhole sight? Really? You better phone the olympic commission then and clue them in on the error of ways, if your quick they might still be able to change things for beijing!

I cant comment on firing a M16 as I never have, But with an SA80 I can hit a man sized target at 500yrds AND check for orange panels BEFORE I pull the trigger.

The size of your sight aperature should not matter. In fact a smaller aperature shoulld make it easier to hit your target under target shooting conditions as it is easier to center your sight alignment. 50yds is 50 yds and I stand by my claim that you should be able to hit small targets with a rifle at that range. As for the Olympics, the 50m event is multiple positions, the other events are 300m rifle and 10m air rifle and if you look at the results post fire you will see that it comes down to minute difference within the x-ring that determine the winners. none of them are throwing wide patterns. At 50m its all about your shooting fundamentals. If youre hitting targets at 500 with a SA80 then you would be doing the same with an M-16 or most other comparable weapons so Im not quite sure why youre disagreeing with me, 50yds should be a breeze for you as well. It doesnt take a sniper to produce fist sized groups at 500yds without a scope, recruits worldwide accomplish this before they graduate.
