Out here we get mostly Douglas Fir (which is harder than most pine) or Hem Fir (which is about the same as soft pine.)
Lots of red cedar is used for fences, as redwood is too expensive.

You do know you wiped out 1/3 of the Amazon building that building
Oh I know, well it's not from the Amazon but believe me I know and it kills me, the drive out to the job site is all the way in the country; beautiful Rolling hills, forests and little lakes and then there's 5 of these giant buildings, another getting built and we still have 39 more to go. "man this is a beautiful piece of land you know what would look great right here? A giant frigging construction site"

At least it's whiskey warehouses and not office complexes..

If you had to farm that rocky, rolling, root-filled forest with some oxen or a mule, it wouldn't seem as romantic.

Today I was a hero. I saved our dishwasher from an early retirement.

It wasn't washing worth a tinker's damn, and I soon found the float switch was jammed with debris, including a toothpick and broken glass.

I was praying it wasn't the computer. It's only $140 for a new one but it's on the bottom so the whole thing must come out of the wall and flip over. Same issue if it's the heater too.

So I seriously lucked out and only banged my head once during the whole ordeal, involving a nutdriver, a wet-vac, pliers and lots of paper towels. If I'd had to pull it out I would be very tempted to replace it, but the $800 was boiling my blood a bit.

I didn't even have to spend $25 for a new float switch, and was able to clean it sufficiently in 30 mins.

Surely you have at least considered eating one of them? I mean they just walk up to you....
