they want a corner because it is defensible. but the slick bottom on tank there probably doesn't seem compatible with the eggs "sticking". so they return to the indefensible rock surface. That catfish is swooping in to eat the eggs as soon as they are laid & he is so bold the geos can't keep him away. too much bottom predation in the tank, you'd be lucky to have eggs anywhere for a few minutes.
IMO, the whole beauty of spawning redheads is watching the parental care. it can take several tries for them to learn, but it's pure joy to watch, and the reason I chose them.

Yea i think your 100% right ill move them to another tank

sometimes even the parents will eat eggs &/or fry a few times. don't be too discouraged.
yours may have to readjust to new tank for spawning.
with mine, once they started it was like clockwork. they are SO FUN to watch.

Yea im going to try it without the catfishs and that will make the tank bottom much more peaceful like you said. And like you said it is the coolest thing to watch. When my red humps breed its amazing to watch the fry get into the mouth.

yep, even non fish lovers are mesmerized by the brood care. relatives stand at that tank & comment on all the parental signals.
my husband is impressed "Hey, Mom slaps her tail & all the babies hit the ground & huddle!"

Ok so i did a water change earlier today. And i was watching the fish and the females egg tube is out. So i was wondering should i shut the lights of like i normaly do or wait?

during the daylight hours I don't light tank, or very little, like I move the light at backside of tank, corners & sides are shady.
at night I leave blue moonlight LEDs on full time, but the fixture is undersized to tank. better survival when parents can see a little bit, but not be worn out with full light.
I don't know what other people do though. mine do best with this, of the things I tried.

Ok i think the times has come that they are about to lay eggs. but i am dumbfounded by the whole situation and i was completly wrong by trying to figure out which one was male and female. But right now i think the female is ready to lay eggs because she keeps on going over the rock like she is laying them but there are no eggs. But back to the point i always thought the biggest and best looking fish of the group was a male and it seems to be female since she has her egg tube out. And vice versa for the less dominant and colorful fish i thought was a female but im now sure it is a male.
