I'm really sick that yours died so tragically. Yours really were an inspiration to me...that they can live in a smaller tank (less than 1000 gallons) with good water parameters.

i love my 2 pacus. i might move them to a 75 gallon tonight. there in a 20 gallon. there both 5'' and are growing faster thanweeds.

pacu's are better the piranhas. And they taste better then chicken. I doubt the 2ft piranha they found in the columbia river was actually piranha and not pacu. Ironic that the pacu is not illegal however the piranhas are.

Space, i couldn't have a tank big enough, and they took chunks out of some of my other fish. And they grew about 4"! In a month!

That a nice healthy looking one craig. the background blend well with the gravel. would u like to share with us what is your setup for this particular tank. size, filteration, feeding regime etc. as i am still learning how to keep up with the ones i have. thanks in advance. cheers.

the tank is 240 gallons. The filtration on it now are 1Fluval FX5,2Rena Filstar XP3's, 1 1200gal/hr powerhead. Her water is pure RO water. Since that shot,which had an old out dated wet/dry filter running it, I changed the gravel,background,filtration,and added 2 250 watt Stealth heaters,which are Pacu Proof. When I started to service the tank there was no heater,and the water had not been changed in one year. so I am now doing water changes a little at a time so I don't shock her. When the tank is finally the way I think it should be I will post alot of pics.
