I'm really sick that yours died so tragically. Yours really were an inspiration to me...that they can live in a smaller tank (less than 1000 gallons) with good water parameters.
Thank you... i appreciate that.

Liz, really sad about your loss...you can't imagine how much time I've spent looking at their pics...came as shock to hear that they were gone now...
Why wouldn't you do it again, Bruce?Bogwoodbruce;1261269; said:I like them they look nice but after keeping them once i wouldn't do it again.
Space, i couldn't have a tank big enough, and they took chunks out of some of my other fish. And they grew about 4"! In a month!Loulou;1262685; said:Why wouldn't you do it again, Bruce?
the tank is 240 gallons. The filtration on it now are 1Fluval FX5,2Rena Filstar XP3's, 1 1200gal/hr powerhead. Her water is pure RO water. Since that shot, which had an old out dated wet/dry filter running it, I changed the gravel, background, filtration, and added 2 250 watt Stealth heaters, which are Pacu Proof. When I started to service the tank there was no heater, and the water had not been changed in one year. so I am now doing water changes a little at a time so I don't shock her. When the tank is finally the way I think it should be I will post alot of pics.AW7020;1258206; said:That a nice healthy looking one craig. the background blend well with the gravel. would u like to share with us what is your setup for this particular tank. size, filteration, feeding regime etc. as i am still learning how to keep up with the ones i have. thanks in advance. cheers.
