you have to remember that most of these people got started because of a LFS who lied to sell fish .. they come here to ask questions and figure out what to do .. and you still flame them to death because they didnt do it YOUR way .. its good that they are asking questions .. even if its not before they get the fish like we would like it to be ... you know its not about showing that your the man because you have great fish .. help them .. teach them .. and they can be part of the good guys one day .. dont bash them out of the hobby because you think they "don't need to have pets period. "

who are you to say .. they have just as much right as you do .. its the LFS that you should be mad at .. because they sold them the fish and sold them the stuff to take care of them .. gave them some bad information and cashed the check .. you (hybridtheoryd16) are one of the worst at this .. i dont know how many times i have posted and you came in with your 2c .. which is not even worth that because its not helpful in the least .. i have to have mods and other people msg me telling me to ignore what you where saying because you where being rude ..

i hate that its even a battle .. this should not even be a problem .. if you want to flame people start up another site .. and make it one HUGE stupid MFKers bash site .. have fun talking trash about all the "stupid" people that "should never own pets" and la te da .. and leave the advice giving to the people who want to help and want to make this site the number one place to go for reliable helpful fish advice on the net .. you can take your negative BS somewhere else and have all the fun you want with it

Its real hard to relax sometimes with new people. After you spend years caring and fighting to keep certain species alive and well care for, and then a new person comes aboard and cares very little or nothing at all for your species. They just have them cause they look cool or what ever.
And then you have people that don't even respect a species evolutionary status. They feel like they are better than 2 million years worth of evolution.

Its hard real hard sometimes.

I have lost my temper a couple of times. There was a post about a guy that accidentally scalded his LM bass 95% to death cause he hooked up the python to the wrong washer hose. And did not notice that he did a 90% WC with straight hot water.

And then there was a person that was using bleach to try and keep any (harmful) bacteria from getting in his 5g tank few a few days until he brought home 15 2" bass and put them in the 5g tank. And they could not figure out why they would die with in minutes.

people like that don't need to have pets period.

stuff like that just gets me.

if its just lack of knowledge thats fine because no one knows everything. And we all started some where. So I try to help anyone thats wants knowledge that I have or if I don't have it ,I try to point them to a person that i think might.

It's all fish man. I think most of us own certain fish because we think they're cool or whatever. Most of us aren't keeping fish for anything other than self indulgence. And sooner or later someone or many will have that fish that you've been keeping for years.

As far as the people who make mistakes... People make mistakes. Ask me how many fish I've killed by accident. Ask any true monster fish keeper on this site the same question. Crap happens. Fish die. Even on the experianced. Equipment breaks. Tankmates eat them. It's all part of the hobby and the learning experiance. If people on the site making mistakes piss you off think of all those who aren't on the site that are making mistakes.

It's heartbreaking to hear people who don't know what they're doing and kill fish out of lack of knowledge. But I wouldn't loose my mind over it. Where that person came from there's 20 more I guarantee. Most just need a little help. And a few are complete tools. But they're not worth a heart attack.

People can give their 2 cents on this site, but i totally agree that the bashing needs to stop. We all love this hobby and for people to bash others is just plain wrong.....You don't have to reply to EVERY post lol

I just dont understand (as a noob self proclaimed) how when you ask a question, even if simple to some or not, why people wouldnt feel good, or even blessed for knowing the answer to your question and then answering it in turn.

I remember one forum where you had to actually answer the question in the thread or a mod would delete your post.

I do that when other people (alot of the times you) are mis-informing people about stuff they have heard from other people. Hear say as they call it.

If at anytime i am giving people information that I have read somewhere but never personally done myself, I always start off with ( I read a thread that so and so said you could do this and it worked for them) or something close to that.

But when it is something that I have personally researched and dealt with several times my self and seen the results i will voice that as well.

The thread that this is spawning from is the silicone thread. And before I enter that thread there were around 2 pages of people saying not to use a certain brand of silicone because it was toxic to fish.

And because that very product that 2 pages of people were saying was toxic I have in now 3 of my aquariums i got involved and asked a simple question. Thats it.

And my first post in that thread was something along the lines of asking each and every person if they could provide a single shred of proof to there claim. ----Simple and plain and to the point. No name calling and no bashing.

And that started the fire. I would have no problem myself backing up something that I have said because when i speak, it comes from a few decades of actual hands on experience dealing with the matters on which I speak about. If I have no experience on the subject I pass it by or i lead the OP to someone that i know can help them.


I think you have a bad taste in your mouth because of the outcome of that thread. And I am sorry that you feel that way. But that is what the rumor mill will get you every time.

When you ASSUME what you are reading from some random person on a bog or something has to say is gospel instead of doing your own research on the subject. Or getting some first hand experience. You know what they say ( ass out of you and me) Me being anyone that you spread that misinformation to.

I myself have let this go long ago.

I am sorry you feel the need to try and turn the entire board against me on now 3 separate occasions.

I think with the amount of Friends i have on here and the people that I have helped with truthful first hand info, or pointers to get them that info that you will not succeed in your spiteful plan.

You right man i was completely out of line for saying that the guy that scalded his bass to death didn't diserve to own pets.

But i am still having a hard time swallowing the BLEACH in the tank incident.
