doesnt look like a pet looks like property. if it was a pet it would be a picture of the man on the floor in the large comfy enclosure playing with the hyena like a puppy.

Or maybe woofy is absolutely right, and they are using they animal as property. It is an accessory to their wardrobe. Just another object to make them look badass...

well its workin aint it?
you guys have to remember that we have completley different cultures
around there they get killed by hyenas
around here we only see them on tv and most of the time they arent being portrayed as the killing machines that they are
they are alot stronger than lions for their body size

True. I thought you were disagreeing with woofy, and you were saying that the hyena's were pets....

My parents friends back in Zimbabwe had a hyena as a pet. It was an awesome sight. The thing was tough as nails and very protective of the kids. they are a bit boistrous and a light tap does not get them out of the way as they think you are playing and push back even harder. They are physically very strong and fit but not strong compared to lion.

The hyena used to run into a hessian sack and then we would spin him around, heavy as hell so never made a full rotation even. More times than not we would wind up on our faces after he ran into the sack. They used to leave the doors open at night because if it wanted to get into the house it would just jump through a window without hesitating. It used to love getting in to the bath if someone was bathing.

Definately not a pet for someone who is not 110% dedicated and has ample space, especially if they are one their own. Some go insane in zoos due to lack of companionship or space as they are pack animals.

well they are not stronger than lions
but if lions and hyenas were the same size hyenas would be alot stronger
i had to do a small report packet on a movie about hyenas vrs lions in bio a few weeks ago
and hyenas kill lions all the time in packs
but lions also kill hyenas but dont need backup if they fought 1 on 1

cool info, thanks for sharing. To me its like alot of other risky things.I wish I lived on a ranch at the beach, surf all the time, small town so I would ride a motor bike, hiking and looking for herps and stuff. If I had the room for something like a hyena,it would be cool,I love spending all my time around animals, more than ppl sometimes, you couldn't say witch would kill me first, surfing, hiking around ven snakes, riding a motor bike or the hyena.I think with the hyena your not only putting yourself at risk but others too.Sit back and daydream for a minute of it turning on you with that strength and picture it ripping you apart alive.I think ppl should try out with a pit bull at least first, lol.Ive got one and they need enough attention as it is.IDK,the older I get,I would rather raise a group of cute little pygmy goats,lol.goat115.jpg
