They don't take back fish anyway. I think Petco did at one point or at least the one near me did. It had a large tank with some semi-large fish that was probably in someone's 10G tank.

They also don't have problems selling you lots of fish the same day you're buying a fish tank.

Petco has a 15 day return policy on all fish except salt. They also take fish back on occasion if it is a little past the 15 days but do store credit. And they will also let you relinquish your unwanted fish and put them up for adoption. All proceeds going to the Petco foundation benefiting local rescues and no kill shelters. As for the sending fish home with a new setup, thats just a bad employee. As the aquatics specialist at a Petco I would never send a fish home with a new setup. If they are insistant on it I give them a couple at most but nullify the guarantee. Which brings me to that koi. That lady was dumb. Don't sign crap like that without talking to a manager first if you KNOW you are right. That lady would get a harsh talking to (from me and a manager) and would probably get stuck on register for the day. If ever you are in a situation like that, talk to a manager or call a corporate office. More than likely your problem will get solved AND you have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped someone else avoid the same bull crap.

whos next? :naughty: :)

my petsmart in town has rules to selling fish .. and they cannot sell pacu to someone who has less then a 150 gal tank .. (you could always lie) but they ask the question before telling them they wont sell them to you if you have less then a 150 .. they do that will all there fish to help with returns and replacing fish because people kill them within the 14 days

Great Idea. Score one for them. I do the same but it's not a company policy.

She would have sold you the feeder fish though but not the danios :screwy:

never buy from petsmart they get their stock in no observation period just float and sell they can kill your fish with systemic bacteria make them sick w/e i would start training your fish on frozen its cheaper and you will get better color and happier fish feeders every once and a while is ok maybe once a month but buy from someone who keeps their fish for more than a couple of weeks

another thing .. i allways cycle my tank with danios .. and i have picked up maybe 5 or 6 dozen reg zebra danios .. and 3 or 4 dozen giants ... and they always end up as food .. but then again .. the idea is that they will last for a while first.. kinda funny that your store would not sell you danios

the petsmart in my area, had a bunch of oscars with hith, and when i informed the employee she said they would just sell them half price,i then asked to speak to the manager and he just said they came in like that and it was nothing they could do about it,as you can guess i have never shopped their again.

^was it the fact that they came in with hith or that they couldnt do anything? what was the outcome/response you were looking for? (Not saying your wrong or defending them. I'm just curious)
