Pics from the ACe cuda tank

OOOO NOOO, I was soo disappointed thinking I got gipped (ordered offline) and got 3 A. Isalinae which like you said top out at around 5 inches, I dont think so right, one got killed in the tank and I got rid of the others. Well thats a bummer. Good to know about TFD but a day too late. I have GOOD NEWS ! !
I talked to my LFS and he is ordering 6 redtails, A. Falcatus for me, I seen the scientific name and made sure it was that or nothing. He is trading my 3 Odoe Pike Charicans for 4 cudas and I will pocket the other 2. I am stoked.

Question I know they are known for getting Fin Rot, I have a 30 gallon tank to QT them if they come in looking good how do you think I should treat them??

Thanks.

If they come in looking good then I would not treat them with anything except maybe some salt in there tank to help them settle in. But i would have plenty of antibiotics on hand and ready. I like to use jungle labs brand fungus clear and maracyn and maracyn2 all together. And then just keep a close eye on them. And if you notice there tail fin turning white or fraying then I would put the sick ones in the hospital tank. i have tried to keep cuda's 6-8 times before but I could only get one red or one yellow at a time. And all of them got fin rot and died with in the first week. So I do not know if my success is because of the group or if its because of the exact treatment. Good luck to ya and post some pics when you get them.

Thanks I will deff post pics, I have plenty of meds also ill pickup some jungle labs if they get the rot. Hope they do good for me and dont kick rocks, I have had one red tail in the past, he was doing great untill my FW morey ate it, bummer. But I am up for the challange.

Post some more shots of you tank also because it rocks ! ! !

Sweet can't wait to see um:popcorn:. i am so lazy i have not worked on the cuda's big tank for more than a week. And to top that off a local lfs got 3 more in. If i had the big guys in the 125 I could get these 3 and grow them out in the 75.:nilly::irked:

UUGHHhh im pissed!! I go in the LFS, I say what do you got for me, the owner says what did you order again, I say the redtail cudas, OWE they didn't come in I ordered them though, but come look what I did get, and he shows me the odoes I traded him for the rtb. I said I gave you those man get out of here.

So he says they will be in maybe thursday or tuesday for sure, im not very happy about the whole deal.

Hopp to it and get them in the 125, or get them and ship em my way. :D

To top it off I did a 40% WC and added ?melafix? I threw out the bottle its to prevent fin rot and add when getting new fish.

NEXT TIME good luck with the cudas!!!

That sucks man, I hope your bio doesn't die off before they come in. You might think about throwing a couple dozen feeders in there to keep everything good.

nice dude!!!

A few update pics. My yellow tails have now grown to around 6+'' in the short time I have had them. But the red tail which started at the same size is falling way behind at around 3.5-4''. It was to the point where the yellows had tried to eat him. I noticed that the red had a bite mark right behind the gill plates, So he was moved from the cuda tank to the feeder tank for some added feeding. Or so i hope. Here are the pics.
