I found with brocolli, all the bits went everywhere... so I gave them just the stalks.

Great idea about putting the pellets in the cucumber/zuccini il try it

Wow a lot of usefull information there! i'll be sure to try out a variety of foods with my two bristlenose's.
Should i par-boil cucumber and mushrooms? or just slice em up and leave them as they are? i am guessing my bristlenoses to be around 6 months old as only one has its bristles (they're pretty small still) whilst the other has .. nothing ;p so thinking perhaps they wont be strong enough to eat it without me assisting in softening the food up?

How do you all get your food to sink so the pleco can find it? Do you just toss it in and wait till it soaks up the water enough to sink. I've found that this method can take HOURS with cucumbers, what do you recommend?

I feed mostly zuchinni and I shove pieces of gravel through it so it will sink.

Some people say not to boil or blanch, because it just breaks down the food which the fish doesn't really need. I disagree with that for my circiumstances, because my fish won't touch raw food for at least two days, which I figure is about when the food naturally breaks down at regular temp. So, if your fish will eat raw food, then feed them raw food, but you might need to lightle boil it for them to want it right away.
