rent a small bob-cat and make it bigger, else you may kick yourself later

come on :naughty: bigger is always better.

do it for the MFK in you.

only joking mate, looks a good size. wish i had the space. cant wait to see it filled.

Trapdoor Snails are great for ponds. They clean the rocks on the walls good and don't harm plants. They do not breed as fast as MTS or Rams, so the population may need to be larger when first adding them to keep their numbers up.

i dont know yet. I asked my neighbor what his pool temp was, so i would know the temp for winter. Ill let you know in summer time, i guess, unless someone else knows?

Phoenix/Scottsdale summer time pool temps get up in the high 90's!! :WHOA:

I would imagine Mesa getting at least close to as high. Better think of how to cool it off unless you want cooked fish!!

Around 900, not inlcuding shipping, so for you or anyone else that wans to see it bigger, Ill do it, you guys pool together and pay half of the liner with half shipping cost. Everyone that does, when they vivist arizona can stay at my house and look at "our" pond, lol....:naughty:

I thought thats purpose of making it deeper than 3 feet, and lots of airaetion? (yes, it is. )

P.S. I have lived here for one summer and know they get hot. i was waiting till summer so I could get a definante degree to post. I dont like to make assumptions like most people. Guessing the obvious, not into that...

Swimming pools are a lot deeper than 3' and still get really hot in AZ in the summer! Well over 90 degrees! 3' isn't going to be deep enough to help it stay cool. It will have to be shaded and have some way to keep it cool.

Muske, Ok, where is what im thinking (i know, changes everyday), butterfly koi, plecos, snails, crawfish. I know crawfish would get eaten, but could any turtle be in this mix? like a soft shell?

OK well mines about 5 1/2 to 6 ft. deep and if thats not enough, fish fry at my house. Thanks for reiterating how hot the arizona summers are, becuase I forgot about them. I cnat believe that I live here and dont know how hot it gets!

OK, seriously though. All the ponds i have gone and visited now (i joined a pond/water garden group) are around 3-4 feet, most are smaller than mine will be and all the fish I mentioned about do well in it year round.

Thank you for your concern.
