no plan as it is right now.
i made my own filteration system mimicking how my AC 110 works.
so far i have 3 buckets customized tray of "HD bucket" brand filled up with carbon, different types foam pads, full bucket of bio balls on top.
in the tub its powered by 2 pumps attached with 1 foot of sponge each and also the tub is filled with boxes of bio-max made for AC 110.
and i also have customized HOB AC110, had to trim the tank plastic belt to fit as a back-up/secondary filter.
if i decided to upgrade i would just add more buckets LOL
also i retune the filter so now it has more water in the tub ( a lil bit half full)
just now didnt want to to WC, but i had to, that was the first WC for this tank.
all i did was want to make sure my water is in good shape, parameter show perfect number according to FW API complete test kit but nitrAte was at 80ppm
my guestimate was every 2 weeks WC, apperently is fall short..it will just get shorter as all my fishes will only get larger and i do wanted to add additional tank-mate too
i should look into plants instead to help me pro-long the WC frequency to help me reach my goal of every 2 weeks.
yes i did the WC to bring down the nitrate number down, early morning its in acceptable number on last check-up.
i need to start plumbing quick connect type plumbing system from my tank my wife irrigation system for her garden.
it is pain in the butts hauling tons of buckets to her garden
I don't think Moss balls would help that much in nitrates, try an algae filter. Or , go for Potho plants. Many members with nitrate problems have been successful using potho
I had my nitrates at 40ppm doing 50% water changes weekly and with a drip system my ppm is now under 10ppm even with my power feeding. It is truly amazing how a drip system will keep your water parameters intact. I drip 2gph that = 336g changed per week.
