PS3 just got lucky with Blu-Ray. Microsoft was unlucky with the HD DVD.
Besides, I would rather have an external Blu-Ray rather then the built in one. What happens when it breaks?
this had got nothing to do with HD DVD vs Blu-Ray war. Evenm if MS made an external BD player how will u watch ur blu-ray if the 360 fails? even think about that?

Even with computers a disc drive can potentially scratch up a disc. Also I haven't heard of the elites acting up or anyone that I know of that have recently bought a new 360 having any problems with them. Atleast Microsoft fixes their problem for free. Sony never did fix their PS2's that broke, and yes they did break just as much maybe more then the 360. The only difference is Microsoft went public with it so now everyone thinks that EVERY 360 is going to fail.
really? I still have my original PS2 from the original release. Still works great
My friend had a PS2 that broke. He gave it to me. I called it in and Sonny fixed it for Free. How can u say they don't? I didn't pay a cent.
OK let me put this into a different view. If the world of console gamings worked differently as like how DVD are. Different players but same movies. Since we're comparing hardware quality and not games. Let change some things. Lets say that ALL console games came on the same media and ALL games could be played on either machine. So MGS4 and Gears of War and Halo will work on both machines. The 360 is cheaper and came out earlier than the PS3. One machine made my MS the other made by Sony. Now answer me, would you still buy a 360 with all the known hardware failures? Again remember this is strictly comparing hardware.
