ray or cat?

rectus' are the cheapest rays available in the u.k and the smallest in the hobby im told.
the main differences between them and other freshwater rays is that they have much longer tails (hence the name)

p.s. say hi to your gf for me. lol

never had them. do you know there max size?
I believe 14'' to 18''.....and they will take a loooong while to get to that size. Bought one at 4'' disk diameter and a year and a half later....6''.

Never seen a big one before. I think miles retic's where pushing 6'' as well.

Motoro's will out grow your tank. keep with the smaller rays as mentioned earlier.

not sure of the correct spelling. P. Retaculatus or something. in latin its means loooooong!
they both require the same water conditions so keeping them would be identical. and as for looks-wise i prefer the motoro . but, you should have a look for yoursef and choose what you think looks best. cos its you thats keeping them long term

The hardest part is trying to convert them to different foods. Luckily, I converted my retic to other foods......a year after i got mine.

i never had that problem. when i got my pair at 3-4'' they took bloodworm and mussel meat all day long. bit expenssive feeding rays cos when they get big they can eat a packet of mussels between them.
i feed mine on tetra prima sinking pellets and hikari gold cichlid pellets to boost there colour.
