ammonia burn is red sores on the underside of the disc..

these symptoms are usually from very poor substrate maintenance..

I've seen ammonia burn similar to that on one of my rays that was imported on top of the disk but not that bad. It didn't show up the first day but a day later it was worse and two days later even worse. It then began to heal after.

It does look like fin rot but would need alot more time to look like that.

Braveheart ~ What did you transport this guy home in? How long was the ride? How did you acclimate him? Did he eat before he came home with you?

True I remember that thread and even found it when searching in reference to this one.. yours looked a little different though, but this could just be an advanced case.

Looks like some sort of burn. Not sure what's that but if u are dosing salt pls dissolve it before pouring slowing into the tank.

I held off on putting any food in there until this outbreak slowed down, so the water parameters would be stable. I put some fresh live black worms in there 20 mins ago. And she scarfed em down. Thats a positive sign...

In the pic u can see the disc flesh sitting there in a heap. You can see the trama that happened all within 24-36 hour period.

Glad its eating...
Def. a good sign, sounds like time for another water change!

Def a good sign its eating. Make sure you scoop out all the poop and pieces of whatever from the tank. Blackworms dont foul water so try and leave some in at all times. Keep with the water changes. It is def shewed up looking but also def looks better than the first pics
