So my mangroves have started sprouting leaves which I suppose is a good sign for the health of my fuge. There is also a bunch of zooplankton crawling on the glass in the fuge which I am stoked about. The gracilaria has a bunch of new sprouts growing upwards towards the light, but like I mentioned before there are some kind of worms living in the sand that are eating it. Is it normal to have worms in the sand in a fuge or are they something I should investigate and possibly remove??
I would ID them first..

Also, I am keeping my calcium, alk, and ph levels all in range and my corals seem to be doing well. I still haven't started testing for magnesium or any other important trace elements yet but I'll start as soon as I get the test kits. I am seeing new coraline algae growth on the glass.Just get ALK CAL and MAG. You should get a PH monitor..if not a good PH test kit.

All I'm putting in the tank as far as food for the corals is a couple drops of phytopheast a day. Is there something else I should be adding to feed the corals? I've heard of target feeding, should I try that? Which corals and how?
I use a "PIPETTE " with thawed food in a small glass in tank water to thaw
As for the prawn roe and or cyclopeeze (good stuff if you can find the frozen stuff.) I just dump some in the tank to "float" around and let the corals catch some in there tiny polyps. it.
Some answers

Cool, thanks Mytee.

I got some more corals yesterday. I think I'm officially an addict. The three I know for sure the names of are blue anthelia coral (pic 5), green trumpet coral (pic 4), and some new zoanthids (pic 6). I also got one that I think might be frogspawn (pic 2), but not too sure because its colored completely different from my other frogspawn. I also got these things that look like two huge zoas (pic 3), but they are called something else. The previous owner told me the scientific name but I of course forgot it.

Oh yeah, I've also been putting some thought into what types of fish I would like to add. I know I eventually want to get a mandarin goby, but I want to make sure my fuge is fully established with a constant supply of food first. I also want to get a flame angel which I don't think poses any problems, right?

The other two fish I want may be problematic because my tank is only a 55 gallon. Is a sailfin tang out of the question?? How about a onespot foxface rabbitfish??

OK
The big ones (two polyps ) are palythoa grandis palys (pic 3)
yes that is frog spawn, just green with purple tips (pic 2) I have the same one.. Very nice
the little flower looking things are clove polpys (I don't think they are anthilia But I may be wrong) (pic 5)
Very nice
And yes you now have the illness. LOL
Very nice pic ups
love the new small colony of zoo's
