Setting up the 100 gal... finally

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Started setting up. Rinsed the Flourite Black Sand and added water... still super murky and found a small leak that needs my attention. I also realized that my Finnex 24/7 light does not have a dimmer function on the 24/7 part. :/ It us currently way too bright for my polys, but I really like the sunrise to sunset feature. Anyone know something I can maybe cover the lights with to tone them down a little?

You could try getting some cheap car window tint film and putting over the light itself, or just laying the film on the tank where the light shines through. https://www.ebay.com/itm/50-VLT-20-...h=item1cbfebbfaa:g:kZcAAOSwEzxYXix8:rk:2:pf:0

Geez sorry i havent replied. I wouldnt use baffles or compartments. Just go with filter socks on a diy holder media, heater, and your pump.

Trust me you will prefer the ease of maintenance as apposed to have compartments that provide no benefit

Sarahmander Sarahmander if you nerf pics or better explanation i can dig up some of my old sump pics and post them

The water going through my return pipe is really loud. Any tips?
Return? You mean drain? Return shouldn't be noisy.
Drain you can put the out put below the water surface to help quite it down. Google gurgle stopper/buster or maggie muffler. Those also work. Also you can depending on set up run it as a full siphon. That's a bit more work in the plumbing department.
