I get the whole cultural thing and all but these are not sled dogs and the yard is a tundra of mud if anything,no Eskimos around here.

 great point!
You did what you needed to.Hopefully it makes a difference. The whole situation sucks.

I like the ability that John has to look at both sides of a situation though. I lack that ability completely and also is compounded by a huge rage factor LOL.

So you weren't kidding about firing shots at the mans front door?

Without reading ANY of this thread, besides your contribution OP, my first and only reaction would be to contact the proper authorities.Police if you don't know the local ASPCA numbers. And in no way EVER let on to those neighbors that you had a hand it what happened.

Man...no dog is better than another,in terms of they all are happy forms of life...but not a Corso, I can't believe I read that.
You come into possession of a dog like that and you do that?
Second though, common sense tell me jerks like that wouldn't ever have the resource or knowledge to obtain a real protection, clean line based Corso.
Prob a mastiff mutt...

Bottom line. You see how you came here and asked advice?Say just as silent while you execute these dogs rescue.Either way, when they get there, THEY will deem the conditions worthy or not.Not people posting on MFK...

Good Luck

Yeah, I kind of always have been that way. I try not to pass judgement on anyone or any situation until I hear or view both sides. Of course that doesn't always work out as you mentioned,if rage is involved that's usually not something I can control

My point was also, especially in this day and age with animal cops marathons all the time...use your brain and if you see some neglect, ongoing nonetheless, do something.

That's It.

Yeah just call animal control. The last thing you want is piss of your neighbors. That could end bad for you and the animals. When I lived with my parents we always had outside dogs. How ever they were not just tied to trees. They had their own dog house. Side note. Water bowls don't work for outside dogs. Take a 5 gallon bucket, dig a hole and put the bucket in the hole. It keeps the dog from turning it over. Its also pretty easy to remove for cleaning.
