THIS PISSES ME OFF TO NO END>>>>>> LFS SHOULD HAVE TANK SIZE REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN FISH.. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

once though when i used to live in the states.... i rescued a green terror from a 20 gallon tank... i was 7 years old and was a fish lover like i am now :D :D :D
he was 9 inches and the teacher fed him the same old tetra flakes once a day for the whole year i was in her class... but i rescued him... how?? i took my dads net and during lunch filled up my lunch box with water.. plopped him and made a dash for home...... he lived for 5 more years till he died a happy death :D.. but honestly here in toronto.. we have a store called big als. i went today and say 4 inch pacus on sale and while i was watching the Jags eat... some lady walked up and asked the guy.. " can i keep a school of these with neon tetras in a 30G" the guy replied " maybe... hmmmm You know it really depends on the personality of the fish" i then told the idiotic clerk that pacus need a minimal of 500 gallons IMO and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.. fish are living lifeforms and deserve the same humanity we give to cats and dogs... today i also rescued a baby Jag cichlid from my stupid freind who had him in a 5G bowl with a small HOB luckily he only had him for 3 days.... ive put him in my 60 gallon(long) with my yellow labs... funny thing is... he should be kicking the yellow labs ass but he is so shy :( hopefully he shows them whos boss...

I know this won't make anybody happy, but I am studying at a field biology station, and there have been hundreds of fish killed for science. Many have been thrown onto shore to suffocate because releasing them in a different lake would destroy the ecosystem, and many have had their bodies cut up with a razor for their alarm cue in their skin. Also think of all the fish that are killed for food and eating.

Wow... sorry to be a downer, but it is tough watching fish die. I could not bring myself to killing the fish here for research, but it sucks standing by. But there is nothing I can do! It is for the better good of science.

Note: These actions have been approved by IACUC and other animal rights protection organizations, so do not report or take these studies as unsupervised. These are very professional studies that are being published and really making a difference.

I just hope that whomever was the dumb@ss to pour the soap into the tank decides one day to get a monster fish...and one day he goes to the tank...and his giant fish drags him in!!!!

My grandma use to say if you can't hear its pain then it must mean it can't feel it. She use to use that towards ignorant people when they did things to animals. She loved animals of all kinds and the lady whom lived across from her use to abuse her dog, once dumped her daughters goldfish out on the curb and ti add insult to injury she stepped on them in front of her daughter!

So Grans told her that line and the lady thought my grans was agreeing with her, until grans slapped her. The lady didn't make a sound but stared at my grandma in shock...grans looked at me then said maybe it is true...if you cant hear it it means it didnt hurt! ;)
